Mentoring

At Puna Rangatahi, we offer a one-to-one mentoring service designed to walk alongside rangatahi as they navigate life’s challenges. Our support is personalised to each individual, taking a holistic approach that recognises the many factors impacting their wellbeing.

Our Youth Workers focus on building strong, trusting relationships through a strengths-based lens. We empower rangatahi to explore their goals, face tricky situations, and grow their confidence at their own pace, with guidance that honours their unique experiences and aspirations.

The predicted outcomes of this service include improved self-confidence, strengthened decision-making skills, and the ability to navigate challenging situations with greater resilience. Rangatahi are encouraged to set and work towards self-appointed goals, helping them gain clarity and a sense of direction for their future.

Referrals to our service can be made by parents and caregivers, school staff, counsellors, or other agencies supporting rangatahi and their whānau. It’s important that the young person and their family are aware of, and agree to, the referral.

Please note, our one-to-one mentoring is a support service, not a counselling service.
